This update has been months in the making. Between daily server management, fixing issues, handling tickets, and making sure the player community is taken care of, I’ve been working behind the scenes to learn, test, and build this system entirely from scratch. No shortcuts, no pre-made tools, just trial and error until it worked. Today, that work pays off.
We’re introducing all-new Slash Commands, a system that gives us far more flexibility than the base game or standard mods could ever offer. With these commands, managing turrets, dinos, and core server systems becomes faster, smoother, and more reliable.
Turret Management
Defending your base just got a lot easier. Instead of handling turrets one by one, you can now control them all with simple commands.
Commands:
-
/fill – Fills turrets in your range.
-
Example:
/fill,/fill tek,/fill cannons,/fill myturrets -
Use
/filltestto see your current range bubble.
-
-
/turrets – Turns turrets in range on or off.
-
Example:
/turrets on,/turrets off,/turrets tek on,/turrets myturrets off -
Use
/turretstestto see your current range bubble.
-
/help – Shows you all usable and upcoming commands
Automated Dino Settings
We’ve also made major improvements to dino management:
-
No more pop-up forcing you to name your dino after tame or claim.
-
Dino will no longer automatically follow you.
-
Dino now goes into passive mode on claim or tame.
-
Ally look is disabled by default.
-
Newly claimed or tamed dinos are automatically renamed to show Melee and HP stats.
-
Newborns are also renamed with stats to override default names.
-
Gender is now included in dino names (if the dino has a gender).
Next Update Preview: Dinos will also include the name of the player who tamed or claimed them, along with gender tags.
Server-Wide Improvements
This update isn’t just about convenience; it’s also about making the cluster fairer and stronger:
-
New survivors can no longer block spawn points with bases. You’ll need to build further out, ensuring safe spawn areas.
-
Enhanced anti-cheat protection, powered by BARK Hosting.
-
Stronger admin tools:
-
Detailed logs for better oversight.
-
A new permission system where admins can only use commands assigned by the Head Admin.
-
Any attempt to use a restricted command results in an immediate kick, and the command will not trigger.
-
It’s the result of months of solo development, testing, breaking, and rebuilding, all while running the servers day to day. These new tools are built specifically for our community, designed to make gameplay smoother and more competitive without breaking the balance of ARK.
It shows what’s possible when we push beyond the limits of the base game, and it sets the stage for even bigger improvements in the future.
Looking Ahead
Slash Commands are just the beginning. With this system in place, we can continue building more features that make gameplay better, fairer, and more enjoyable. The next update is already in progress, focusing on even deeper dino automation.
For now, jump in, try the new commands, and see how much smoother life on Billionaire Ark has just become.
